Reviews for STANHOPE ARMS, BRASTED

First visit here, on a Thursday lunchtime. Pleasant enough staff. Nice traditional pub with modern decor. Had the katsu curry which I thought was a bit watery and overpriced for the standard. Had the syrup sponge and custard which was delicious. More custard would be welcome. Pub isn't responsible for their customers conduct...but seeing 3 mums boozing at lunchtime swearing in front of a young child I thought was pretty trashy. Unfortunately that was my takeaway memory. Sometimes Kent is the garden of England...sometimes it's just Essex south of the river.

Lovely pub. Great garden for the summer. Good food. Cold beer. What more could you ask for 👌

Very friendly efficient service with an 11/10 for the Sunday roast. Best roast we've ever eaten in a pub anywhere - superb.

This is a fantastic country pub which has an amazing ambience, some what busier than expected but it makes sense due to the selection of beers and great food. There is a bustling bar area and a separate restaurant dining area. They were very accommodating towards my 4 year old and the waitress was very attentive towards conversing with her which was lovely. The other diners and us were chatting during dinner, the crowd here is pleasant. Our food was delicious and a reasonable price, despite being busy the food also came out within a quick time as the staff are very efficient and well managed. I had the prawns for starter and sea bass for mains, both were amazing. I would like to go back here, especially as they serve my favourite beer Hoffmeister which was fresh and poured perfectly. My partner had the burger and chips and said his burger was also really tasty! The brownie was delicious, well presented with flowers and a side of ice cream Thumbs up all round. Parking: We managed to get park however parking spaces are limited and the pub is situated down a quiet country road, plan ahead and arrive early or be prepared to park away from the pub and walk

A great little pub in the heart of the countryside. I visited at lunch time on a Sunday and it was fairly busy, but I managed to find a table with ease. I parked in the church carpark next door, I hope that is OK, church people should comment. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food that I ordered came quickly. It was delicious. I had the beef sunday roast and the only thing that I can think of as a negative comment, was that the Yorkshire pudding could have been crispier. The garden caters well for children and the tables are spaced well apart. Well worth a visit.

A lovely pub and nicely situated in a country setting with garden. Our first visit here for a Sunday roast but sadly won't be returning as not good value for money. At £18.25 for the roast beef we would have expected more on the plate. Veg consisted of one small head of broccoli (no stalk), tiny parsnip and a table spoon of pureed carrots. The roast potatoes were overcooked and were very small (think one spud cut into 4). Plus teaspoon size of stuffing. A large Yorkshire on top to conceal the small size. A same as we had high expectations after reading the reviews 😕.

One of my favourite Pubs to visit year in year out. Fantastic menu, generous portion sizes with high quality food, beer choice is brilliant and always tastes perfect (no flat, tasteless beer here). Customer service is fantastic, always pleasant and happy to help. Big old garden with more than enough seating, with rain and sun cover. Football and ping pong set up for the kids.

Great place to visit for food. Garden very well-maintained Kid and dog friendly. Popped in for a snack had the sharing platter more than happy. No down load app to order or card only nonsense here.

Another great lunch here. Lovely beer garden to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. Friendly and attentive staff. Only comment would be lack of vegan options, would be great if there was a salad main or something like a nourish bowl. It was a struggle for one group but other than that we all enjoyed our food. Will definitely return.
